Hp Deskjet 450 Bluetooth Drivers For Mac

Where can I get the correct driver for this almost decade old HP Deskjet 450 printer driver? 13.3' MacBook Pro (2012) Mac OS X 10.8.3 doesn't seem to find the proper driver (currently gives me generic PCL driver) and I cannot find one for this version online. Mac OS X doesn't let me view my ink status/supply levels, colors in printouts, etc. It uses driver v1.5 for USB connection. HP.com web site shows three different models for 450 and I have no idea which one it is. Serial number is c8111a and manufactured on 6/10/2003 in Singapore.

FYI, the printer does work on an old MacBook Pro (2008)'s Mac OS X 10.5.8 had no problems even with colors with the supplied Inkjet v3.3.3 driver (does not seem to exist in 10.8.3). Thank you in advance.:) A simple Google search of 'HP Deskjet 450 printer driver' took me right to the HP page for that printer Further investigation of those pages show that they stopped updating the driver at 10.5. While the 10.5 driver may work, the issue will be 'is it 64-bit compatible?' My guess would be no. The driver was last updated in 2007. You can try it, but it may not install.

Without a driver, you're stuck with the generic driver for this printer. This is the reason I'm still running 10.6.8-all my printers and scanner drivers work. If the generic driver doesn't work, try setting it up through CUPS instead of the Printer setup menu. If this isn't what you want, try either downgrading your computer or buying a small system (cheap MacMini) that runs 10.5 so you can run a printer driver for it. Or you can just buy a newer printer.

DeeDee, don't press that button! I filter all Goggle Groups posts, so any reply may be automatically ignored. I would suggest keeping the old printer for the old computer and buy a new HP Deskjet ePrinter/Scanner combo as long as you have the computer that the 450 will work it will until that computer Dies. Ant- Mine is dated March 1, 2004. The different models were for combinations of the same basic printer with optional battery and Bluetooth adapter. To be sure it is working with 10.8.3, I just printed your posting. Go to System Preferences-Print & Scan, and go through the process of adding it as a new printer. If it does not appear, it should show up up if you click on 'Kind'. (Mine shows up as a Bluetooth printer since I have that option.) It wants to Use: Generic PCL Printer, as you mentioned.

I did not even try that. Instead I chose Use: Select Printer Software. Scrolling down the list, I chose HP Deskjet 450 - Gutenprint v5.2.3.

That driver seems to work OK. On 3/28/2013 8:23 PM PT, Fred McKenzie typed: Mine is dated March 1, 2004. The different models were for combinations of the same basic printer with optional battery and Bluetooth adapter.

Hi JasonI know it isn't the most recent version available, but this version is used extensively across the corporation. Changing the version of ACE all these products used will cause the architect's heads to explode;) Is it your opinion that 5.3.1 is hopeless cause on Tiger? It'll take some work, but companies like Riverace, Remedy, and OCI can help out with this stuff if staying with 5.3.1 is essential. Please see for help with this stuff. I will try it out, and let you know how it works. Great - if there are any problems please let us know quickly so that we can get the fixes into the x.4.8 beta. Thanks, Doug - Dr.

Changing the version of ACE all these products used will cause the architect's heads to explode;);-) Right - this is where the value of commercial support providers comes into play. DOC's research efforts continue to march on as they should, while commercial product efforts are best served by sticking with a version of ACE over time. Companies such as Riverace can make a 5.3-base version work on Mac OS X Tiger, for instance, as well as make sure that when your product is ready for an upgrade, the new version of ACE won't surprise you. I'd be happy to discuss further how we can help you and your architects - we don't want any heads to explode:-) -Steve - Steve Huston, Riverace Corporation Helping you succeed with ACE See I'm trying to compile Sendmail 8.13.4 on Mac OS X 10.4.1, using GCC 3.3.

I'm getting the message that GCC no longer supports varargs.h and code should be updated to use stdarg.h. I know this is a long-standing problem, and I used to be able to solve it (with Sendmail 8.12.x on Mac OS X 10.2.x and 10.3.x) by reverting to GCC 3.1. Unfortunately, GCC 3.1 is not installed on Mac OS X 10.4. The weird thing is that the last machine I build this way was Sendmail 8.13.3 on Mac OS X 10.3.7 and it compiled just fine with GCC 3.3.
