Pdf Digital Darkroom Fundamentals For Mac

Just trash the application, that's about it.Andrew, I'm surprised you would be so unfamiliar with Windows as to offer this terrible advice. This may be the procedure to uninstall an application on Mac OS (I don't know), but, notwithstanding the merits or demerits of differing software architecture approaches, in the case of Windows, this advice should neither be given nor followed. In addition, contacting Adobe via their website is straightforward - just click on 'Learn & Support' and then 'Contact Us'. Andrew, I'm surprised you would be so unfamiliar with Windows as to offer this terrible advice.Sorry, I'm a super Windows novice.

I do own a Windows laptop and while I probably spend 40+ hours a week on a Mac (since 1988), I probably don't spend more than 40 hours a year on that ' other' OS. That said, I didn't say HOW to delete the application, only to do so. Yes, this is how to remove LR or other app's on the Mac, delete them (specifically by getting them into the trash and emptying it).

Seems reasonable that on Windows, this has to be far more difficult and non intuitive Finding how to do this on either OS via Google took less time than it would take to delete the app on a Mac, that's why I provided the link. I guess I should have said to the OP: Delete LR just like any other app you've deleted on your Windows machine in the past.

On Mac, there are still some residual and tiny files that can remain which isn't (shouldn't be) a concern. Preference files and such, that hold the serial number, sticky settings and the like. But you are totally correct, like those confirmed bachelor's, I'm happily unfamiliar with Windows.

Indeed, I am a 'Mac novice', so would rather steer clear of offering advice for that platform. You don't 'delete' applications, you 'uninstall' them.

It is not in the least a difficult or unintuitive thing to do on Windows. When a program is installed, core program files are logically separated from user settings.

Windows has a convenient 'Programs And Features' utility to take care of the whole uninstall process for the user. My guess is that the only problem Frank is having is that he is looking for 'Lightroom' here, rather than 'Adobe Photoshop Lightroom'. In the modern (UNIX-based) Mac OS, the proliferation of little 'auxiliary' files has made the 'trashing' option more difficult. Things were much simpler before OS X, I'm sorry to say.

Manually, you have to do the crappy work of looking up the individual files in the folders given at John Crowe's link. For PS6 beta and later, see instructions on uninstall - 'trashing' is not recommended, - Adobe has an 'uninstall' option.

E.g., Here is the information from the pdf file for CS5. Its never a good idea to start deleting files in Windows any version. You would be better off to just leave everything in place. If your hard drive is suffering lack of free space you should probably upgrade hard drives or get a new computer. I have Lightroom 5.7 and it shows up in Windows Control Panels, Programs and Features, with the option to uninstall.

Please be careful and check again. Lightroom is a really fantastic program so you should watch a few tutorials on you tube and give it a chance. I have been using it for over 5 years. The time spent to learn it pays off later as you will be able to quickly turn your photos in to something you never imagined. IMPORTANT: Mac OS has new uninstall functionality. DO NOT drag applications to the trash to uninstall them.

To safely uninstall on Mac OS X, double-click the product installer in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers or double-click on the Uninstall alias located in the Application folder.Alas, no such uninstaller on Mac exists for Lightroom. There are uninstallers for all the other Adobe applications I have which is odd (Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, Muse and Creative Cloud of which in my case, Lightroom is not part of).
